I LOVE to travel, I deeply value travel and new experiences! Travelling inspires my work, new and beautiful locations to spark creativity excites me. I am always eager to get on a plane or hit the road. Travel within a two-hour radius of Nanaimo/Oceanside (Parksville/Qualicum) is complimentary. Farther locations can discussed based on venue or elopement details on Vancouver Island, BC. For highly desired locations and venues or creative partnerships, I waive travel fees. For International destinations, I am happy to offer my full day package in exchange for covering travel package costs.

Accommodations: If the destination is further than a three-hour radius of Nanaimo/Oceanside (Parksville/Qualicum), I may require accommodation dependent upon package coverage hours and location. However, I am a realistic person and willing to work within your budget as best I can.

I shoot digital with Nikon z6 and z6ii mirrorless cameras. I have been considering dabbling in film again, I grew up using film cameras. But at this stage digital, it allows for open sharing of galleries and unlimited downloads of your day, for yourself and or family and friends.

I do NOT release RAW images for several reasons:

Raw Images are influenced by copyright law in Canada: photographers hold the copyright of their images as soon as they are created. RAW files are considered original work and releasing them compromises intellectual property rights.
Artistic Integrity: RAW images are unprocessed and contain a lot of extraneous data. Releasing only edited images maintains my artistic vision, style and ensures my work truly represents me.
Quality Control: Releasing edited images allows me to maintain control over the final product. I want to ensure any image published reflects my quality standards and editing choices.
Misuse and Alteration: RAW files are maleable and can be easily altered. I do not want my images being used in ways that do not align with my vision or brand.
Client Experience: most importantly, you are hiring me to produce images that reflect the style and experience that has led you to my FAQ page. RAW files often require large amounts of time editing. It is my job to provide fully editing images, that you are paying for my time to edit leaving you with images that are ready to share and display and will be there for generations to come.

My artistic style focuses on creating timeless and emotive images that capture genuine emotions and transform memories into moments. I believe that each person and love story is unique, and I want you to see yourself in these images, allowing your loved ones to recognize and appreciate who you are. My editing approach is natural, featuring soft light and true-to-life tones, without significantly altering your body or removing large objects. When I am capturing your day, I will make every effort to capture flattering angles and minimize distractions in the background. During my editing process, I will address minor blemishes and bruises and smooth skin as needed.

Sneek Peaks are delivered within 48-72 hours. I love to share my art on social media, my website, brochures, online contests and magazines for marketing purposes. It helps me grow my business. However, if you are uncomfortable with any concerns about your images being showcased, please let me know ahead of time and I will respect your right to privacy.

Full galleries for weddings are carefully crafted and delivered in a secure online gallery within 6-8 weeks from the date of your wedding. During busy season or if personal circumstances interfere with my usual timeline, such as a sick child, I will communicate any possible delays and make every effort to minimize the impact on your delivery timeline.

While I give unlimited downloads and there are innumberable companies who provide prints and albums, "cheaply", the quality typically reflects the price and there is no guarantee they will not alter the editing. These websites often source printing and products in the US and overseas despite a .ca web browser or listing Canadian funds. Delivery time and shipping costs are often high.

I partner with a high caliber Canadian print company that offers unaltered high quality prints, albums, wall art etc. They offer competitive pricing on these items and I have tried and tested the quality of their products with impressive quality. The images will look as good in print as they do online.

Second Shooter: I typically am a solo shooter, but have often worked as a second shooter. There may be times in which I mentor and a second shooter will be with me, but that will be discussed ahead of time. If a second shooter is important to you, we can discuss the costs and parameters of this at time of booking.
Do you have a back-up in case of equipment malfunction: I always use two camera bodies and have them serviced regularly. I also have a timeline less than manufacturer recommendations for replacing my memory cards. Each section of your day is captured on separate memory cards and my cameras have secondary backup slots. Your wedding is backed up onto two hard drives the moment I get to my accommodations or home. The images are stored on those memory cards until gallery delivery is complete. The RAWs remain on the hard drive for 1 month past delivery. The fully edited gallery are kept on my hard drive for one year past delivery. I retain some images for marketing purposes.
Back Up Plan: unless a large unforeseen natural disaster or severe and life endangering storm, I will ensure I am present on your wedding day. I am prepared for any weather and have weather protective gear for myself and my equipment. I will also make every reasonable effort to retain a suitable and similar quality/style replacement to cover the day if an unexpected personal injury prevents me from being present myself.
Insurance: I retain equipment, liability, property and cyber insurance policies for my business.
Payment Schedule: I require a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure the wedding date, your date is not considered booked until payment is received. Final payment is due the day prior to your wedding date.

how much time do i need?

Picking your Coverage

Choosing the right photography package for your wedding coverage is the most common question for couples planning for their day. Since wedding photography is a significant investment, having the appropriate coverage is crucial to capturing your unique love story and ensuring your satisfaction with the final images.

Understanding which moments you want to capture will help select the best package for your needs, whether you want comprehensive coverage or just the essentials.

This outline should help guide you for the aspects of photography timeline on your wedding day. Ask yourself what moments you want covered, if it's the full day from getting ready to hugging goodbye at the end of the night, you will want about 10 hours. If you are more concerned about capturing the important moments and emotions, 4-6 hours may be enough.

Whatever you desired coverage is, I am here to help you get it all.

Getting Ready & Important Details: This will largely depend on how much detail you want and how large your party is.

Girls Getting Ready: 45-90min
Guys Getting Ready: 30 - 45 min
The First Look : 15-60 min

Considerations:

Are the guys and Girls getting ready in the same location but different rooms or separate places across
Travel Time Between Groups: 0 min and up
First Look: This is a private moment between you and your partner before the ceremony, this allows for a moment of connection and to help east nerves prior to the ceremony. However this can also be done with parents, grandparents or the wedding party.

The Ceremony: 20 - 60min
The length of the ceremony will depend upon any cultural or religious traditions that you want incorporated into your day. If you are adding hand fasting, candle, sand ceremonies etc., this will add time to your ceremony coverage.

Formal Photos - 30 - 120 min
This number is so varied as it depends on a number of factors. How many guests you have, wedding party sizes, requested family photos or important guest images, extended family requests.

Guest lists less than 50 - 45 min will be plenty of time
Guest lists between 50 - 100 about 60min
Guest lists of 100+ is a solid 60 min

Each Wedding Party Side is 30min per side.

Managing Time: we can jump in to this in two ways:
1. Immediately post ceremony starting with larger groups and working our way down.
2. Allowing up to 30min for hugs and hellos and congratulations before starting photos

Dinner - Speeches & Toasts : 30 - 60 min
